I don’t know about you but when someone asks me to make a card I am always chuffed to be thought of and instantly apprehensive. Everyone’s taste in cards is so varied and my cards tend, at the moment anyway, to be a bit floral. There are so many beautiful bloom stamp sets out at the moment that I just can’t help myself. Do you have a favourite? I would love to know.
Anyway, I was asked to make a special card incorporating a scripture. It’s such a lovely scripture at Isaiah 35:5 with the hope of future health including the eyes of the blind being opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. The card had to be extra special, and not like a Victorian flower garden, haha. It also had to say thank you on the front too. I was really thrilled to be asked and really loved making the card. I actually made two because I was enjoying myself and wanted my friend to have a choice.
But where to start? Well I dug out my favourite set, golden garden by altenew. I hope you don’t get too bored seeing me make cards with this set.
First of all I created my sentiment in Word and made one with black lettering and the other gold and printed them both onto one A4 sheet of card. I then used my crealies xxl stitched rectangle dies to create my panels.
For the first card I went for one of the beautiful flowers from the golden garden set and stamped the images with hero arts black India ink and used hero arts soft pool ink over the top. I stamped an additional flower into card, fussy cut it out and adhered it using foam squares over a ball of teal embroidery thread. A few sequins and attach the panel to a white card base = done!
What do you think?
I will post pics of the second card soon. 😀
