Spring coffee lovers blog hop – Rainbow tea cup card

Hi everyone.  It’s a beautiful sunny day here in Scotland, it finally feels like spring is here.

One of my lovely Instagram friends Dena sent me some goodies from the SSS Feb 2017 card kit to play with for the current Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I made a super quick card for my first entry – my nearly two year old is demanding all my attention at the moment!

I blended some distress inks in rainbow colours on dotted embossed card, copic coloured and fussy cut a teacup from Simon Says Stamp, added some white circles with gel pen for added interest and then adhered everything to my base.  Aren’t those iridescent rainbow sequins just gorgeous?

Winnie and Walter Mood Board Challenge

Hey

I hope you are well.  Can you believe it’s nearly the end of March already and now officially spring? Yay.

Todays card is based on the Mood Board from Winnie and Walter that I mentioned in my last post, it certainly makes me think of spring, but then as you know I do love pink colours.

Heres the Board:

and here’s my card:

I smoothed picked raspberry distress ink and blended hero arts soft yellow ink onto white cardstock to use for my die cut pieces (still trying to remember the make of these). I stamped a leaf image from Winnie and Walters Addie Gardens set with fog grey Simon Says Stamp ink onto white card and created my own patterned paper.  The sentiment stamped in hero arts charcoal ink is by Clearly Besotted.

Illness apologies

Hey everyone.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi and apologise for my quietness these past couple of weeks – I have been very tired, struggling with my iron levels and my little one is full of the cold and sooooo clingy that I haven’t even been near my craft room.

On the plus side I have done lots of blog reading and Pinterest scrolling and am full of inspiration and ideas.

One Challenge I have my eye on is based on this Mood Board at the Winnie and Walter blog – aren’t the colours gorgeous?

See you soon

x

Cute shaker baby card by Rachel Vass

Cute Shaker Baby Card

Good morning! I wont go as far as to say Happy Monday – personally I’m tired and the week hasn’t started yet, lol.

Todays card uses cute animals from Winnie and Walter and some patterned paper by Pebbles.  This is my last card for the current Winnie and Walter challenges this past month.  I can’t believe how many great cards I’ve made with just three stamp sets! I’ve really had a great month.

Ink smooshing card by Rachel Vass using Winnie and Walter Addies Garden set

Ink Smooshing with distress inks

Hiya.  Hope your having a lovely day.

Here is the card –Ink smooshing card by Rachel Vass using Winnie and Walter Addies Garden setTodays card features ink smooshing with distress inks.  I used cracked pistachio, spun sugar and picked raspberry.  I rubbed the ink cubes on to a piece of acetate, sprayed with clean water and then ‘smooshed’ the acetate onto watercolour paper.  I kept adding and moving colour until I was happy.  I created two panels, one for the base piece and the other I stamped floral images from Winnie and Walter Addies Garden and then cut out by hand.  I used my mini Misti and a sentiment from clearly besotted to finish the card, along with some black ink splatters and sequins.

Its pouring with rain here and dark and grey so please excuse the poor light in the photos.

Spring Tulip New Home card

Hi everyone. Hope you like today’s card, it’s a fun pink spring tulip card.

I only have about six copics – a couple of pinks, teal and greys and I have barely used them because I feel I need more colours to blend properly. However, there is a 30 day colouring challenge currently on Instagram and so many wonderful examples of copic colouring that I decided to just have a go. It’s just reinforced my need to buy more. Lol.
